The Volkswagen L1 was a close-to-production concept for a very economical vehicle.
The name refers to the fuel consumption: "L" for litre, the figure for the mileage.
That means 1l per 100km (235mpg). The car is driven by a hybrid engine: a two cylinder turbocharged
diesel engine and a 14HP electric engine. The production is planned to start in 2013.
