The K70 was planned to be presented and sold as NSU K70. But NSU was bought by Volkwagen/Audi in 1969
and therefore VW decided to sell the K70 as a Volkswagen.
It was the first Volkswagen with front engine, front wheel drive and a watercooled engine.
