The EA276 was a early
forerunner of the VW Golf. The concept is in the main
features identical to the Golf:
Front engine, front wheel drive, the design of the
suspension and the hatchback body. Only the engine was
completely different:
Instead of the watercooled inline 4 cylinder like the Golf
had, a flat-4 from the VW Beetle was the powertrain for this
car.
