The Toyota 7 marked a
significant advance in Toyota's motor sport programme, being
it's first thoroughbred race car,
designed and developed purely for competition purposes. The
Toyota 7 made its debut at the 1968 Japanese Grand Prix,
featuring a 3L engine. The following year, the engine was
upgraded to a 5L power plant. The 7 notched up victories
at the
Fuji 1000km, the Suzuka 12 Hours and the Suzuki 1000km.
