Škoda

In 1895 the company "Laurin & Klement" was founded, and started the production of cars in 1905. 20 Years later it merged with Škoda Works, the biggest industrial enterprise in Czechoslovakia. Since then the cars were named "Škoda". Between 1945 and 1990 Škoda was a state-owned enterprise in Czechoslovakia. In 1991 Škoda was bought by Volkswagen.
