The V8 engine was taken from Buick and became very successful in several different Rover.
The P6 was the successor to the P4 (1949-1964) and the predecessor to the SD1 (1976-1986)
In 1970 the P6 received a facelift. In Europe, the 3500S was launched in 1971 with manual transmission.
