The Peugeot 504 replaced the 404 and was replaced by the 505. Typical for a french manufacturer, predecessor and successor were produced at the same time for several years. The Peugeot 504 Coupe/Cabriolet was based on the 504 sedan with a body designed by Pininfarina.
