The Opel 4/12PS was a copy of the French Citroën 5CV. In contrast to the
The Citroën 5CV, it was painted in yellow, the Opel was green. That was the reason for its nickname
"Laubfrosch" (~tree frog) and the German proverb "Dasselbe in Grün" ("The same in green" which means
something is nearly the same despite of a little unimportant detail).
The Opel 4/12PS was the first Opel built at a assembly line, and the first mass production Opel.
