The Mercedes C111 (first shown in 1969) was developed to its third version in 1978. The body was greatly
aerodynamically improved (coefficient of drag: cd = 0.195), and a turbocharged diesel-engine was installed.
Equipped like this, the car achieved several world records for diesel-powered vehicles.
