This was the third Maserati Quattroporte generation (I: 1963-1970, II: 1974-1978, III: 1976-1990
(from 1986 as "Royale"), IV: 1994-2000, V: 2003-2009). The Quattroporte III was designed by Giorgio Giugiaro and it was
technically related to the Maserati Kyalami with longer wheelbase.
The Quattroporte III was the most successful car of Maserati until then with more than 2000 cars produced.
