The Land Rover 1/2ton leightweight was built for the British army. They
needed a light all-terrain vehicle, and the smalles production car of Land Rover was to heavy.
Therefore the 1/2 ton Lightweight was developed. It was built until 1984, when the
base vehicle, the Land Rover 88 was replaced by the new Land Rover 90.
