The VAZ-2108/2109 was the first own developement of AvtoVAZ, and the first front wheel driven model.
The Lada Samara Baltic was made for the export market, and built in Finland to improve the quality. It did not sell very
good, therefore the production of the Baltic ceased after two years already.
