The Jaguar XJ40 (sold as Jaguar XJ/Daimler Sovereign) was launched
as successor to the Jaguar XJ Series 3. They were built together until 1992, when
the Series 3 model was dropped. The XJ40 was replaced by the Jaguar XJ (X300) in 1994.
