This Jaguar was the successor to the pre-war S.S. Jaguar 2.5/3.5litre, which succeeded the
S.S.1 and S.S.2. It was also available with shorter wheelbase and a 1.5litre inline 4-cylinder engine.
This series got later the additional name "Mark IV" to differ it from the Mark V.
