The Ferrari 288 GTO reminded at the legendary 250 GTO from the 1960s. It can be
seen as its successor. The Body of the 288GTO was based on the 308 GTB, but with several
modifications. Technically it was a true race car, with a 2.9l twin-turbocharged V8 engine.
It was the first production car with a topspeed of more than 300kph/186mph.
The Ferrari F40 was launched in 1987 as its successor.
The car on the pictures was owned by the former formula 1 driver Eddie Irvine between 1993 and 2003.

Pictures taken at the "Technoclassica 2009" in Essen, Germany.
