The first 250LM prototype used the same 3.0l engine as the 250GTO. But all the other 250LM
models featured a bored 3.3l V12 engine. The car was intended to race the GT-sports car class, but
FIA refused to homologate the car. Therefore it hat to compete in the prototype class. It was
quite successful anyway
