Daf

Daf was founded in 1928 by Hubert van Doorne. Since 1932, it is called Daf, which means "Van Doorne's Aanhangwagen Fabriek" (=Van Doorne's Trailer Factory). In 1949, soon after WWII the company started to build trucks, trailers and buses. From 1959 on, the company also started to build cars. This lasted until 1975, wenn the passenger car division was sold to Volvo. The last Daf model was built as Volvo until 1981.
