Originally developed by the ZF (Zahnradfabrik Friedrichshafen) Company,
the Champion 250 was built between 1948 and 1951. From the Champion 250 the
Champion 400 was developed and built between 1951 and 1956.
Then, Maico took over the production and sold the Champion 400
with a new engine as Maico 500.
