The E24 6-series was at first based on the BMW E12 5-series, after 1982 based on the E28 5-series. This
change made the body about 50kg/110lb lighter. The E24 was built between 1976 and 1989, for 13 years, longer
than any other BMW.
The paint of this car was designed by the artist Ernst Fuchs.
