The italian company "Iso" developed the Isetta and sold it from 1954. BMW bought the license to produce a licensed version of it.
BMW made some improvements (like replacing the 2stroke engine by a 4stroke one taken from the motorcycle BMW R25) and
sold it successfully between 1955 and 1962.
