The DB R2 was built out of the DB R1 with a new engine. It race at the 24hours of Le Mans 1957,
in Spa (1957). After a change in the FIA regulations for the size of the eingines (limited to 3.0l),
the car raced in UK-events and other events with no capacity limit until 1959.
In the beginning (1957) the engine size of two the DB R2 was 3.7liter, it was increased to 3.9l in 1958 and later to 4.2l (1958-1959).
The car on the pictures is a reproduction of a DB R2 using original blue prints, it was built in 1971.
The DBR2 Recreation features a 4.0litre inline-6-cylinder engine from a DBS Vantage with 325hp. The car weights 935kg/2061lb.
