Amilcar was building cars between 1921 and 1939. Amilcar was mainly building small sport cars in the cyclecar segment.
The company was quite successful, even in motorsport. But after WWII the production was never restarted.
CGSS means C Grand Sport Surbaissé, while "Surbaissé" means "lowered" which reffers to the lowered body.
It was a small racecar, competing mainly other cars like the Salmsons.
