The Alfa Romeo P3 succeeded the P1/P2. The P1/P2/P3 were the first Alfa Romeo cars built only for races.
The P1 was a disappointment, but the P2 and P3 were very successful in Grand Prix races in that time.
When Alfa Romeo stopped its engagement for Grand Prix races in 1933, private teams took over the cars.
Therefore P3 race cars were driven until 1935 and won many more races.
